Welcome to our little corner of the blogosphere! We are Kevin & Becky, but to be honest, if you become a repeat visitor here, you'll notice that it's mostly the female portion of our dynamic duo you hear from.
We are native Texans but have made our home in China since January of 2009. We've called each other husband & wife since January of 2006, but before that, pretty much called each other "Hey you!" (No, seriously. Kevin has an identical twin, and I couldn't tell them apart for the longest time!)
This blog originally started because I got married, became an adult, and moved away (all at the same time practically!) and wanted a way to keep friends & family back at home updated on our new Kentucky home. Then even when we packed our bags once more and headed to the other side of the planet, the faithful blog came with us. My old hobby of writing has met its match with my new hobby of photography, and this blog is the perfect arena for them to duke it out. Plus, with the addition of our Ethiopian sons this summer, the grandparents will need a way to keep tabs on their grandkids.
The most important thing that you could know about us is that the reality of Jesus Christ is what frames & informs every aspect of our lives. In his death on the cross, Jesus took the punishment that we deserve for all the ways we have failed to love God as he deserves. In his resurrection, we are forgiven & have the opportunity to be adopted into God's family as his children. In faith & repentance, we are able to enter into that relationship. Hopefully, you'll encounter these truths in a fresh way in the blog posts that you'll find here.
But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior.
Titus 3:4-6
