Peek, Party of 28

Madness.  Sheer madness.  That's the best descriptor of our Peek/Young family reunion last weekend.  But what else would you expect when you get together a posse of 28 people...14 of whom are kids...12 of whom are 4 and under?

And then try attempting to keep them from running away and maybe, just maybe have them look all at once at the professional photographer we hired.

All the while, their parents are making mad efforts to keep their fancy white shirts clean.

Not to mention the snack breaks, nursing breaks, throw-a-fit breaks.

Then you head back to the house for family fun, only to have the sky open up.

No worries, though, since Uncle Matt is awesome and doesn't have a lot of furniture in his living room.

And fun is back on schedule.

With the bounce house back in service, the adults might have even have a chance to exchange a few words of substantial conversation.

Well, most of the adults, that is.  Except for the one that hides like this for a good majority of the time.

Hudson meets his Nana & Grandpa for the first time and even keeps his eyes open to take it all in.

Then the sun finally decides to join the party, creating a golden opportunity for watermelon, grilling, and swinging.

Madness.  Sheer madness.  But when an opportunity for all of us to be together only comes around every few years, what would be even more mad is if we didn't take full advantage of it.

The first time I read this, I thought it totally said, "singing in the backyard" instead of swinging. I couldn't wait to see pictures and hear stories of that. :)
The inside bouncy house is awesome. brilliant!
